FRIENDS OF THE RICHMOND MOUNTED SQUAD SPONSOR A STALL AT THE MEADOW EVENT PARK
The Friends of the Richmond Mounted Squad and SFVA (State Fair of Virginia, Inc.) have enjoyed a long and mutually beneficial relationship. The annual FRMS horse show has been a part of SFVA’s Fair and non-Fair equine event program, the annual Richmond Ride is part of Strawberry Hill Race Week and in 1998 the Friends even held a “State Fair Ride” departing from the State Fair. For the past several years, FRMS has held a fund raising “Equine Yard Sale” at the Fair on its final Sunday. In 2009 the Friends decided to support SFVA through their “Stall Recognition” program by sponsoring a stall in the new Southern States Legends Stall Barn at The Meadow Event Park, new home of the State Fair of Virginia. FRMS and SFVA share a common interest in supporting the community and horses and know the important role horses play in many people’s lives from the young rider getting his first taste of competition to the police officer and his mount working to keep communities safe. Both are not-for-profit organizations. More information about participating in SFVA’s Stall Recognition program is available at:MeadowEvent Park Campaign
